This is primarily a video post, but this will give a summary of what is covered in the video.

I was running through Epping forest while recording it, so it’s a breathy number.

There are 2 pillars. We can call them Pleasure and Pain or Carrot and Stick.

Same difference.

There are 4 directions of movement towards or away from these pillars. These are our motivations.

  • Away from pain (most people’s initial default)
  • Towards Pleasure (or the pursuit of attaining progress)
  • Away from Pleasure (or progress)
  • Towards Pain (often destructive though there are exceptions)
