Nick Grainge founded Elite Outdoor Fitness in 2016. Nick says:
“I have always been interested in how the body and mind works and the best way to help people to become fit. I believe including the right level of fitness brings more balance and positivity to people’s lives overall”.
Nick is a highly successful athlete across a broad spectrum of physical and mental disciplines. He is a very competent road, cross country and fell runner, swimmer, cyclist, cross fitter, strength trainer, expedition leader, and served in the UK Special Forces. He has won competitions internationally across a range of events including 5ks, 10ks, sprint triathlons, cross fit competitions, ultra mountain races and has successfully endured the harshness of long expeditions and multiple week events across the world with the Special Forces.
Nick has recently broken two world records carrying 80lb on a marathon and 100lbs on a half marathon to show that if you put your mind to something then it can be achieved. He has successfully trained many people within the EOF community into top 5 finishing positions and many 1st places (Male, Female and Masters positions) in some of the UK’s hardest fitness events. These include:
Paras 10 (North and South (winners Individual and team)
Commando 30 challenge (Winners)
BTU Ice Ultra in Sweden,
Fan Dance Race Winners
Wood House and Fan Dance Race series including Endurance 54 miler (Winners)
Nick’s main goal is to take people with little or no experience in fitness or training and provide them with a social and supportive platform. Here they can start from a very basic level and progress gently and progressively. Nick understands that people need help in getting healthier and fitter, people need help in getting the balance right. This way they are more likely to continue and make it part of their lifestyle.
Nick also noticed that most experienced people were not training correctly and not maximising their potential. People didn’t seem to understand what they were wanting or aiming to achieve. They were training and just trained for the sake of the habit. With some help, learning and direction, EOF has turned experienced athletes into more capable, resilient and motivated people and with a more positive mind-set.
Joining EOF as a member allows a person to become fit and healthy but with full support and the step by step guidance they need. Being a member allows you to become part of an interactive community of positive like-minded people, gain knowledge, train together, participate in individual and team events and progress your fitness and health, in the correct way for you. This will increase your confidence, self-discipline, motivation and most importantly progression. Nick says:
“People need to see results, they need to enjoy the journey, instead of trying to get fit and not knowing where to start, what they are doing and fail after a few weeks. Most people give up because they don’t understand how to start to get fit”.
Nick has a background in Physical Training Instruction within the Armed Forces, diet, nutrition, injury management and sports science. He has vast experience and is hugely successful and capable as an athlete across many disciplines. He has coached in CrossFit, strength and conditioning, fell and cross country running, swimming and cycling. He has built a team of professional highly motivated and experienced trainers and support staff including ex-world class international athletes who are all accessible as part of the EOF instructor team.
Nick has been very successful in each of his chosen fields of expertise throughout his careers and he puts this down to the Elite Outdoor Fitness methodology of developing and progressing dynamic physical and mental capacity, both equally and progressively.
